RISK MANAGEMENT AND INSURANCE
Risk Management
Managing risk is the responsibility of each Club and as a family focused sport, is a critical part of karting and kart club operations.
Karting Australia has introduced a new program called KARM (Karting Australia Risk Management) to assist clubs in managing and assessing risk. This is a tool for your Club to help you focus on and manage risk for the betterment of your club, members and the wider karting community.
KARM is something new and is not a resource that many sporting bodies provide their Clubs. Karting is therefore a market leader with this program and as a program developed jointly with our Insurance and Risk partner Arthur J Gallagher, it provides Best Practice assistance for clubs.
The KARM program has four levels, which will be introduced over time and any club can only progress to the next level once it has successfully completed the preceding level. Each level will be introduced over time to enable clubs to successfully complete the preceding level and to do so in a way that works for your particular club situation.
Insurance
Karting Australia has a National Insurance Program in place for affiliated clubs and sanctioned activities.
For the benefit of your Club, we recommend that you take the time to read the insurance documents provided on the National Insurance Program webpage so that your Club understands what is covered and what is not covered. It is common for people in general to make assumptions regarding insurance cover but far better for your club to work on knowledge rather than assumptions.
The information contained on the National Insurance Program webpage and Downloads will assist you to have full knowledge of what Club activities are covered but the Karting Australia National Insurance Program.
